Service update
Cockpit service update
The NCSC has reported serious vulnerabilities in PHP, software used worldwide. These vulnerabilities originate in PHP itself, rather than in Red Rocket’s software. Because Cockpit runs on PHP, we have taken the platform offline as a precaution. All active advertising campaigns are currently paused.
We have no indication that anything has gone wrong at Red Rocket. This is a precautionary measure.
Once the official PHP fix has been installed and verified, we will bring Cockpit back online and notify you directly.
What happened?
On 21 October, serious vulnerabilities were reported internationally in PHP, software used by websites and applications worldwide. These vulnerabilities originated in PHP itself, rather than in Red Rocket’s own software. The Dutch NCSC also issued a warning.
Why was Cockpit temporarily offline?
Cockpit runs on PHP. We therefore temporarily took Cockpit offline and paused all active advertising campaigns as a precaution. This prevented campaigns from directing candidates to the platform while it was unavailable.
What did we do?
We applied the PHP security patch. We then made Cockpit available again and resumed the advertising campaigns.
What does this mean for you?
You can use Cockpit again. The advertising campaigns are running again and the temporary interruption is over. Thank you for your patience.
Was there an incident at Red Rocket?
There is no indication that anything has gone wrong at Red Rocket. The temporary interruption was a precaution following the internationally reported vulnerabilities.
