The short answer
Choose an AI recruiter based on the part of your recruitment process you want to improve. Reaching new candidates, assessing existing profiles, and following up on conversations are distinct tasks. Compare providers on the same vacancy, with the same job requirements and clear agreements about data and decision-making. There is no universal winner for every technical role.
What does this article compare?
Finding a mechanic calls for different choices than sifting through a large pile of applications. For a work planner, for instance, you want to understand which projects someone has prepared. For an operator, shift patterns, location, and specific machine experience may all matter. A product name like "AI recruiter" says nothing yet about how a system handles any of that.
This overview was compiled by Red Rocket, which is itself one of the providers listed. We compare the publicly described approach, not the proven quality of the products. We have not conducted a comparative field test. The eleven providers are listed alphabetically; the order is not a ranking.
Sources verified: 23 September 2026. Product pages are linked per provider. Missing information is a question for a demo, not evidence that a feature is absent. Also verify current availability, supported languages, and service provision for your organisation.
Start with the bottleneck in your recruitment
Too few suitable applications? Look at supply, the region, and how you are reaching people. A campaign can generate additional inflow. A screening tool, on the other hand, needs candidates to assess. The two can complement each other.
Many applications, little overview? Look at how job requirements are recorded, CV analysis, structured conversations, and a handover your recruiter can review.
Candidates dropping out during follow-up? Examine response time, accessibility, the number of questions, and how conversations are scheduled. Ask candidates, too, where the process became difficult for them.
Job boards, social campaigns, and approaching existing profiles can work alongside one another. The fact that someone is employed says nothing in itself about which channel that person uses, or whether a move would interest them.
Eleven providers side by side
Use this overview to make an initial selection. The descriptions summarise what the providers themselves publish; they are not an independent confirmation of performance or legal compliance.
| Provider | Described approach | Question for a demo |
|---|---|---|
| Conviro | Combines candidate inflow, WhatsApp follow-up, AI qualification, and appointment scheduling within a configured recruitment process. | Show how the intake, selection criteria, and handover are configured for our vacancy. |
| GrowGuide | Describes a recruitment service with sourcing, CV analysis, AI pre-interviews, and matching against vacancy requirements. | Which activities do you carry out, which remain with us, and how do we assess the shortlist? |
| Intaqe | Focuses on the initial intake and screening, structured candidate files, and follow-up alongside an existing ATS. | How do the responses, criteria, and points of attention feed into our existing process? |
| JEX | Describes an AI Recruitment Suite including an AI recruiter, a vacancy builder, and interview questions. The suite page consulted states "Binnenkort beschikbaar" (Coming soon). | Which components are available now, which are planned, and what can be demonstrated today? |
| Jobilla | Positions AI Recruiter around social recruitment, candidate inflow, and screening. Mentions industry and construction, among others, as areas of application. | How are the campaign, initial application, and screening configured for our role and region? |
| Matchlab | Offers WhatsApp-based recruitment with an AI assistant for conversations, screening, and reminders, integrated with Tellent Recruitee. | Which data and statuses are updated within our Recruitee environment? |
| Reclute | Combines CV import and matching with WhatsApp screening and availability gathering. Mentions Performa Recruit as an import source. | How do our candidate sources, languages, and scheduling arrangements align with the configuration? |
| Red Rocket | Combines social campaigns, AI qualification via WhatsApp, and candidate profiles in the Cockpit for employers in technology and industry. | How do we record job requirements, and which responses and supporting detail do we see before the personal follow-up? |
| Ringtime | Focuses on staffing agencies recruiting operational staff. Describes outreach and screening by telephone and WhatsApp from within an existing ATS. | How do telephony, WhatsApp, handover and availability work for our candidates? |
| SelectWiser | Offers software for AI analysis of CVs and covering letters. That is a different starting point from a campaign or a direct conversation with the candidate. | How is the analysis linked to our vacancy, and which information do we verify ourselves afterwards? |
| Soorce | Offers AI-assisted searching, screening, and approaching of candidates, either as software or as an outsourced sourcing service. | Do we want to source ourselves or have it done for us, and how well do the profiles found match our requirements? |
A monthly licence, a per-vacancy fee, and a delivered recruitment service are not directly comparable. Ask each provider for a current quote covering the same scope: setup, users, usage volume, advertising budget, support, integrations, and any success fee. We do not include standalone starting prices or unconfirmed rates here.
What makes this comparison relevant for technical roles?
Ask each supplier to work through one recognisable practical scenario. For example, an electrical works planner who independently draws up material schedules, coordinates with engineers, and processes changes to a timetable. Establish in advance what knowledge is required at the outset and what someone can learn on the job.
- Experience: does the system ask what someone has actually done, or does it only record a job title?
- Depth: what happens when a candidate answers: “I do have experience with that”?
- Practical fit: are working hours, work area, and availability discussed clearly?
- Evidence: can you view the original answer alongside the summary or score?
- Correction: can a candidate correct a misunderstood answer, and who reviews it?
An answer about a certificate is not the same as checking the evidence. Have validity, qualifications, and role-specific requirements verified by someone who knows the work. Even a thorough AI conversation does not automatically replace a substantive professional assessment.
Data and automated assessment: ask about the full chain
EU hosting is one element of data protection. Ask separately – for the platform, the messaging service, telephony, and AI models – which parties process data, where that happens, who has access, and when information is deleted. Ensure the arrangements reflect actual usage.
Automated selection requires separate attention. According to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens), restrictions and exceptions apply to solely automated decisions that significantly affect someone legally or otherwise. A score that determines whether someone progresses can fall within this scope. Human intervention must be meaningful: a reviewer must be able to understand and change the outcome. Leaving the final hiring decision to a human is therefore not sufficient to set aside earlier automated selection steps. Read the AP’s explanation.
The AI Act sets rules for AI in areas including recruitment and selection. Where the transparency obligation applies, a candidate must know they are communicating with AI. This is separate from the rules for high-risk systems. The European Commission gives 2 December 2027 as the application date for the high-risk rules covering areas including employment; other obligations apply earlier. Ask which rules apply now to the specific system in question, and how responsibilities, oversight, and documentation are arranged. Consult the European Commission’s current explanation and timeline. This overview does not constitute legal approval of any of the products mentioned.
From qualification to a personal conversation

A usable profile helps you take the conversation further. You want to know what information is already established, where uncertainty remains, and which topics you need to explore in person. Discuss not only the score, but also the handover to your team.
For Red Rocket this means: campaigns, an initial conversation via WhatsApp, and insight in the Cockpit. The AI can assess responses automatically; an unsatisfactory outcome can prevent an invitation being sent. The personal follow-up and the hiring decision are separate steps. Our privacy and AI page describes that process in more detail. Ask us the same questions about criteria, evidence, and human assessment as you would ask any other provider.
In a demo, check how data arrives in your ATS or workflow. Ask what information the integration transfers and who follows up a failed synchronisation. An integration is only useful once your team can work with it day to day.
Compare results with a defined pilot
Choose one vacancy, fix the criteria, and agree which outcome counts. Where possible, compare the same role and region over a similar period. If supply, budget, or role requirements change, note that alongside the results.
- Inflow: how many candidates start, and where do they come from?
- Completion: how many people complete the conversation or screening?
- Match: how many meet the agreed requirements, and does a substantive check confirm this?
- Personal follow-up: how many conversations are scheduled and actually take place?
- Effort and cost: How much time does your team still spend on the process, and what costs come with the overall approach?
Also review a sample of candidates who did not progress. Looking only at the strongest profiles can conceal missed matches. Discuss the candidate experience too, and how readily questions or corrections are handled.
Client stories and supplier figures are a prompt to dig deeper – not a guarantee for your vacancy. Ask about the measurement period, volumes, role type, region, and how 'qualified' is defined. Apply the same benchmark to every provider.
Six questions before you decide
- Which part of our process do you take over: reach, sourcing, screening, follow-up, or scheduling?
- Which criteria do we record, and how do we see what a decision is based on?
- Who decides on progression and rejection, and how do correction and human review work?
- Which parties process candidate data, under what agreements, and with what retention periods?
- What does the price cover, and how does the data connect to our existing system?
- What results do we measure in a pilot, and at what point do we decide whether to continue?
The right choice starts with your own recruitment question. Sometimes that means better reach, sometimes faster follow-up, sometimes more structure in selection. A provider who makes that concrete with you gives a stronger basis for a pilot than a general promise about AI.
Frequently asked questions
Which AI recruiter is best for technical roles?
That depends on your vacancy and where your process stalls. Compare reach, conversations, selection, and follow-up against the same role requirements. This article describes providers on the basis of publicly available information and assigns no scores or winner.
Can an AI recruiter automatically reject candidates?
That requires an assessment of the specific application. Article 22 GDPR places restrictions on solely automated decisions that significantly affect a person, with exceptions and safeguards. An earlier selection step may also be relevant. Ask how human review, information provision, and correction are arranged.
Does an AI conversation prove that someone holds a valid certificate?
No. The conversation can record what someone declares. The validity of a certificate and suitability for the role must, where necessary, be verified separately.
Why are there no prices or suitability scores in the overview?
Licences, campaigns, and delivered services have different scopes. Request current quotes on the same basis. Without a comparative practical test, we do not assign general suitability scores.
